The Role of Art in Promoting Equality — Chemeketa College Educator Conference, 2021
What is the role art plays in helping to promote equality in current culture? This research culminated with a presentation at the conference.
Cultural Color Palettes —Oregon Public Broadcasting, 2019
This was a special report done in partnership with the Grande Ronde Tribal Center in Oregon. It examined colors traditionally used by the tribes in the Grande Ronde area and what the significance of those colors was. It ended with a short video that was aired on OPB and also donated to the tribes for display in their visitor’s center.
How We Make Art Education Matter — Portland State University, 2018
As art educators we are consistently having to defend our practice to ensure it will continue to be funded. How do we make art matter to those who have no initial interest in it? This research was done as part of my grad school thesis and was presented at a thesis presentation.
Keeping tradition alive: A Native American canoe journey. — Oregon Public Broadcasting and PSU, 2015
Every year the tribes of the Grande Ronde come together for a canoe journey that celebrates their ancestral waterways. This project was part research and part participation and documentary filmmaking. The video aired on Oregon Field Guide on OPB.
